Paul has been directly involved in the residential construction industry for over 36 years. After graduating from the University of Illinois at Chicago Circle with a BA in 1972, he moved to Colorado and began working for a local civil engineering firm in Evergreen. Progressing to the position of survey crew chief, his duties included all types of field work, office calculations, drafting, and learning the basics of residential subdivision design. From this starting point, Paul became involved with light commercial construction and then moved into residential work. He has hands-on experience in all phases of residential construction, both new and remodeling. In 1984 Paul started his general contracting business and quickly gained a reputation as a successful, high-quality builder. He has been well-trusted by his clients and has experienced a high level of repeat business. Paul has worked with some of the top architects and engineers on the front range of Colorado and has built projects in many areas of the state. Past clients include some of the most demanding owners.
In the late 1980s, Paul became interested in the design aspects of construction. As he encountered more clients who had a firm idea of what they wanted to build, the need arose to produce working drawings in a pragmatic and cost effective manner. At the same time, the drawings would require a firm overall knowledge of building that an ordinary draftsman couldn’t provide. Paul dusted off his drafting supplies and began to provide hand-drawn plans for a variety of projects ranging from simple decks to complete houses. This path eventually led to computer aided drafting and C3 now employs a very deep, powerful and professional design program called Autodesk Revit. The 3-D aspect of this program, combined with its other client-friendly attributes, provides an extremely useful tool to help visualize design concepts and produce excellent finished drawings.
Paul currently serves as a writer, residential construction consultant and general manager for C3. He also will build selected projects, depending on present work load, the type of project, and time frame/scheduling.
Paul lives with his wife Nancy outside Lyons, Colorado.
